Antique Horse Pull Toy, 19th century, bells, horsehair, metal, pine
A delicate, gracefully proportioned horse pull toy (or pony) which is mounted by its hooves through a pine board with painted red trim. Iron wheels are attached with nails. Perfect untouched patina. The saddle and tack are fragile but largely intact. A green saddle blanket remains. The mane and tail are horse hair. A rare original collar of tiny bells encircles the horse’s neck. Shoe button eyes. The horse’s sweet disposition is clearly with a gentle face and light, elegant stance. A fresh reminder of childhood-everyday.
Dimensions: 19” Tall, 18” Long, 6” wide.
Date: 19th century
Condition: Wear from age and careful use. Some of the horsehairs of the tail are loose. One ear flops down. There is a spot of fabric missing under the belly. The best condition report is in the photos.
